Goin Ridin

If we're in Indonesia, it must be time to ride. Mark and I rented motorbikes on Lombok to take our own personal tour of the island. The views driving along the coast were incredible. We also stopped to eat coconuts, and talked with some of the residents best we could. Mark was asked if he was Italian, which he says is a first. Mostly people would call out England when he rode by. Everyone was really friendly to us as he headed along the coast.

Indonesia

And we've now begun the Asia leg of our trip, starting in Bali and Lombok. Its been great here, we've gone scuba diving where I saw a shark and a turtle, tried our hand at surfing, and just hung out at the beach and the pool. This is quite addicting. Stay tuned for a surprise celebrity appearance on the world tour coming up soon.

Perth

From Cairns all the way to west coast Australia, and landed in Perth. While in Perth we took in a "footy" game (australian rules football, a highly entertaining cross of soccer and rugby). The team mascot was named from a Bon Jovi song. We spent most of time in Fremantle just outside of Perth, where we enjoyed the nearby beaches and fish and chips. I took a torchlight tour of the former max security prison there, and Mark hung out with David Brent (his clone anyway).

Great Barrier Reef

We made it to the Great Barrier Reef after Melbourne, where we all went scuba diving!! The reef is amazing, and the best place I've ever dived (with my impressive 6 dive resume). Lori swam with a turtle while snorkeling. In other news though, Lori has left to return home after Cairns and the Reef, so the trip is back to only Mark and I again. She will be missed.

Melbourne

After saying farewell (for now) to New Zealand, we flew back to Australia and visited Melbourne. We celebrated St Paddy's out in Melbourne and Mark and Lori continued celebrating all night as they had added bonus of staying in a dorm with 11 Irish travelers. We just missed the Grand Prix there, but still got to see the Ferrari exhibit in town. We also checked out the zoo where Mark almost got knocked over by a kangaroo rushing by to defend his woman from a rival kangaroo.
